Dr. Hedgewar Blood Center, Nagpur is a part of the project run by RSS Lok Samasya Sanshodhan & Lok Kalyan Samiti which came into being in the year 1993. During this period the society witnessed people dying due to lack of timely administration of blood. Thereby came the idea of foundation of such a Blood Bank that would meet the shortfall. The great social cause behind the formation of the Blood Bank was to help the Thalassaemia & Sickle cell patients to live their lives happily without hardships. At the start we provided only Whole Blood, now extending our services to provide with Packed Red Cell, Platelet Concentrate, Fresh Frozen Plasma and Single Donor Platelet Concentrate. What started as a seedling slowly grew into a huge tree sprawling its branches to all the sections of society irrespective of caste, creed and politics. We have around 1 lakh voluntary blood donors attached to us and much more in the making. Many good samaritans of the society are instrumental with our services and render their timely help wherever needed. Our team take initiatives to reach out to all walks of life for help, counsel, and console the needy ones by our empathetic services. We are committed to meet the expectations put forward from the society by rendering services 24x7.
